Project R.E.A.C.H.

Project REACH is designed to focus on employment opportunities in the MRDD field. Our target audience is unserved and underserved populations both at the high school and collegiate levels. This project will use several methods of information dissemination and will utilize professionals in the rehabilitation community to conduct presentations and workplace experiences. Methods of information dissemination will include in-class presentations, internship placement, and the development of a MRDD related career resource website

COLLEGE INITIATIVES

Colleges and universities in the Central Ohio and surrounding areas have accredited undergraduate and graduate programs in rehabilitation. Project REACH will increase student's knowledge of careers in the MRDD field through various avenues including:

  • Job Shadowing/Internships - To recruit students from underserved or unserved populations for internship opportunities with MRDD.
  • In-class Presentations - Arrange career talk presentations to college classes and/or campus student organizations from rehab/MRDD field representatives.

HIGH SCHOOL INITIATIVES

High school students need to be exposed to career options to make informed decisions upon graduation. Project REACH will expose youth to employment and career options in the rehabilitation field of MRDD. This goal will be accomplished through the following methods:

  • In-class Presentations - Arrange in-class presentations to talk to students during career day or in health/social science classes at area urban high schools. These presentations will reach approximately 100 students total
  • Interested in doing an internship send your resume to resumes@wrightchoice.org in the subject put "PROJECT REACH INTERNSHIP"
